Save the file and restart VS Code.

Ask for something smi_list_exports does. VS Code lists the server's tools on connect and calls smi_list_exports itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that SMI Aware Assistant's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.
