Save the file and restart Claude Desktop.

Ask for something congressgov_committee_lookup does. Claude Desktop lists the server's tools on connect and calls congressgov_committee_lookup itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that congressgov mcp server's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.
