Save the file and restart Claude Desktop.

Ask for something eia_query_route does. Claude Desktop lists the server's tools on connect and calls eia_query_route itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that eia energy mcp server's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.
