Save the file and restart Claude Desktop.

Ask for something gdelt_get_tone_distribution does. Claude Desktop lists the server's tools on connect and calls gdelt_get_tone_distribution itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that gdelt mcp server's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.
