Save the file and restart Gemini CLI.

Ask for something openstreetmap_query_bbox does. Gemini CLI lists the server's tools on connect and calls openstreetmap_query_bbox itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that openstreetmap mcp server's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.
