Save the file and restart Windsurf.

Ask for something pokeapi_get_item does. Windsurf lists the server's tools on connect and calls pokeapi_get_item itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that pokeapi mcp server's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.
