Save the file and restart Windsurf.

Ask for something ref_http_status does. Windsurf lists the server's tools on connect and calls ref_http_status itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that reference data mcp server's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.
