    Save the file and restart Gemini CLI.

    Ask for something ref_unit_convert does. Gemini CLI lists the server's tools on connect and calls ref_unit_convert itself — you do not invoke it by name.

    If nothing happens, check the server is running and that reference data mcp server's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.
