Save the file and restart VS Code.

Ask for something backlink_directories does. VS Code lists the server's tools on connect and calls backlink_directories itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that tracetify mcp's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.

tracetify mcp will not start until these are set, so backlink_directories never becomes available.
