Open ~/.config/zed/settings.json and merge this in. Keep any servers already there.

Save the file and restart Zed.

Ask for something openlibrary_get_work does. Zed lists the server's tools on connect and calls openlibrary_get_work itself — you do not invoke it by name.

If nothing happens, check the server is running and that openlibrary mcp server's identifier in your config matches the one above exactly.

Set these first
openlibrary mcp server will not start until these are set, so openlibrary_get_work never becomes available.
